Day of Filming

Everything went as planned, we were able to finish shooting in one day. It took us a while because of the amount of shots and angles we did. We decide to overshoot so we can have more options when putting the video together. Samuel and I were the actors while Jose and Klaus were in charge of filming.

Switch Up

In the last post I mentioned that we were going to shoot in Jose's office, but due to his availability that won't be a possibility. We had to change the location to Klaus' garage, where we will make it look like a lab as much as we can. It will be a challenge but I believe it can be done.

Key Moment

Today we finally came up with our location where we are going to film. We had to find a place that looked like a laboratory which was hard, but Jose's office will do. It has white walls and most of the objects inside are similar to what one would find in a lab.

Filming

Our group gathered to begin filming. We have just thought out how the scene is going to develop. We have to get different props for the scenes and figure out a way to make it all work. The shooting will begin on Tuesday. We plan on doing a lot of shots so we have different angles and shots to make the opening film as good as it can get.

Example

This is the type of suspense we are trying to create. The way it is carried out is not exactly how we will do our opening.

Film Opener

Most well rated movies begin with a scene that attracts the audience, which is the goal we are trying to accomplish. In this case, we are supposed to make the audience stay on their toes to see what will come next. Our genre is suspenseful, so intriguing the people might be a challenge. How does one hook the audience by scaring them? They are there for one reason to begin with, which is to get scared. In my next post I will show an example of what we are trying to do.

Don't Be Scared

After thorough discussion with the group, we came to the conclusion that we should do a scary movie. We believe suspense is a great way to attract people to watch our movie. People nowadays enjoy getting scared (not me). I think this will not only be a challenge for me, but also for the group. We have to come up with creative ways to scare the audience, have them on their toes at all times. This type of task is difficult to do, but not impossible.

The First Step

My group and I have been assigned to create the opening scene for a movie. This is a challenge I am ready for and cannot wait to begin. One of the first elements that we need to figure out is our genre. My type of movies are comedies and action, but it is not only up to me. Either way, I am open to any other genre, which would be a bigger challenge since it is not one of my top picks. I will be posting our step by step plan on how we will create this opening scene.
